Salman Khan in Wanted, Wanted Vs Ghajini, Salman Khan Vs Amir

The much hyped Eid battle between Salman Khan's WANTED and the Shahid-Rani starrer, DIL BOLE HADIPPA, is turning out to be quite one-sided in favour of WANTED. In fact WANTED has now started smashing some of the records of the All Time Blockbuster, Aamir Khan's GHAJINI.
This Monday saw WANTED netting around 7.35 crore from India, which is more than the corresponding total of GHAJINI on its first Monday. Not only that, on Tuesday WANTED once again netted around 6 crores, which is just about the same as that of GHAJINI at the same juncture. Of course the collections of GHAJINI were much higher than WANTED, during the first weekend, but what should be kept in mind is that GHAJINI had released during the Christmas festival and winter vacations, while WANTED released during the lean fasting period of Ramzaan and Navratra. So, the stats cannot be compared.

Another interesting thing is that the once bad boy of Indian cinema, Salman Khan, has suddenly become a darling of the media and has grabbed headlines for very frivolous reasons, right from his paintings to his charity work down to the verbal battles with his colleagues! And it appears that Sallu too has now seen the importance of marketing and keeping a good rapport with the press, specially after the stupendous success of his new found friend Aamir Khan's not so superior product, GHAJINI, the runaway success of which is being attributed to a large extent to the innovative publicity blitzkrieg by Aamir himself.

As we all know that Salman's new release, WANTED , is the Hindi remake of Tamil/Telugu blockbuster POKKIRI and like Aamir Khan, Salman too has decided go out of his way to promote his film. And in keeping with his new resolution, Salman has given his consent to the producer, Boney Kapoor, to use him in any way and as much as possible for the publicity of WANTED!

Apart from the above, news from reliable trade sources are that Salman Khan has seen the rush prints of WANTED with his family and was very happy with the way the film has shaped up. And so he had high hopes that this film would be his comeback venture, especially after the back-to-back debacles of HEROES, HELLO and YUVVRAAJ.

Pressure to deliver was mounted on Salman as now both the Khans, Shah Rukh and Aamir have delivered huge blockbuster successes in form of RAB NE BANA DI JODI and GHAJINI and his fans are expecting WANTED to do the needful and bring him back in the reckoning.

We want Salman all the success!
